Passed away on July 26, 2018 at the age of ninety-one. He left this life as he had lived it - on his own terms. He is predeceased by the love of his life Mary (2003), a truly remarkable nurse, wife, mother and grandmother; by his beloved eldest son Larry (1994); and by his wonderful mother-in-law May Crichton. Survived by his children Jim, Sue and Cathy, six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and family in Sarnia and Calgary.
He will be remembered for over forty years of service as an electrician at CGE Peterborough, where he began his apprenticeship at sixteen years of age; his ability to design a house, be a farmer, an electrical contractor and repair or build almost anything.
He loved the farm near Omemee, enjoyed the years at Catchacoma Lake and valued new friendships in Lakefield through curling and golf. He was generous, honest and forthright. He was his own man. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Cremation has taken place. A private interment will occur at a later date.
Donations to Dog Guides for the Blind through your local Lions Club would be appreciated.
