PORTER, Robert Howard “Bob” – Passed away peacefully, at home, on Saturday, March 30, 2019. Bob of Cardiff, formerly of Kasshabog Lake and Hamilton, at 90 years of age. Beloved husband of the late Gloria McCuen (2012). Dear father of John (Ellan), Jim (Debie), Jan and the late Robert (surviving wife Beth).
Loving grandfather of Rob Jr., David, Sharon, Mark, Jake, Emily, Jimi, J.D. and Margo. Dear Great-Grandfather of Cassie, Meadow, Nolan, Rob and Ollie. Son of the late Elsie Linsell and William Henry “W.H.” Porter (founder of the Porter Flute and Drum Band of Hamilton). Brother of Gladys Davis and Edward Porter both of Hamilton. Bob will be remembered by many other relatives and friends.
Retired carpenter, Stelco, Band Master of W.H. Porter Memorial Flute and Drum Band. Regular entertainer at Nursing Homes and prisons.
Bob loved being with family and friends at the lake, with boating, music, rum, campfires and lots of grandchildren. Bob and Gloria were the ‘Life of the Lake’ for many years, Dad helping whoever needed him with carpentry, Mom being the social one, keeping everyone connected.
Cremation entrusted to Community Alternative Funeral Home. Two Celebrations of Life will be held, one in Hamilton and one at the lake. Details will be posted on the Community Alternative website.
