Ian Ivany (July 14, 1967- February 22, 2020)
He passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side in Peterborough, Ontario. Ian said that we all might go through some things in life but at least they can make for a great story. He was definitely a man of many stories with far too many chapters. He spent most of his life as a hard working Diesel Mechanic and spent a lot of time in beautiful northern Ontario. Ian always had a new book on the go as reading was his favoured pastime. He is survived by his Daughters Alyx and Chantel, his grandchildren Brian and Evangeline as well as his brother Robert. Life was too short for our dad who was doing the best he could with the cards he'd been dealt. We'll always remember going camping in the summers, 5 cent candy bags from SJ's, road trips with tunes and all the bad luck situations that have turned into great stories.
"That's one of the remarkable things about life. It's never so bad that it can't get worse."
A drop in Celebration of Life will be held from 1- 4 PM on Sunday, March 8th at Peterborough Lions Club (347 Burnham St, Peterborough) in East City. All are welcome. Donations made in Ian's name to One Roof would be greatly appreciated. Condolences may be made online at www.CommunityAlternative.ca.
